I have been using Rackspace since about 2010. They started out as a great company with timely support. They knew their stuff and were able to help me. I used one of their higher levels of support. Then, I was sold on using AWS and letting Rackspace manage my cloud. I ponied up for the Aviator service. Again, at first it seemed like a good solution for us. Then they went public and everything fell apart. Long wait times for support, reminders sent over and over about service, etc. I started to get responses such as, "I'm not very experienced in this." What's worse is that my dedicated account manager never once followed up with me to help with audits or reviews as promised. Several times I'd get an email from someone saying they were my new manager and when I reached out to learn more I got nothing. Finally, we decided to switch management companies. Enough was enough. The Reverse Authorization process takes 3 MONTHS!! Meanwhile, you are billed for their horrible support. I'd love to paste the support thread here because you just can write the kind of responses I got. After 3 months I asked why this isn't complete. They said "Well it takes up to three months." I was like "Uh yeah, it's been three months." Next day I get a response that says "We see this has been mis-filled by AWS and so we are trying to expedite this." Seriously?! They also blamed Covid! For a cloud company? They offered to reimburse my fees for the last 4 months that I waited and now I get my receipt and they paid a total of 1 month! This is insane. If you are looking to grow your business, do NOT trust this company. They have no intention of helping you or supporting you. They care about your money and THAT IS IT! Avoid this company with all haste.

Rackspace used to be a premium hosting provider.....last year all of their customer service / tech support was transferred to India, the people working for them are completely hopeless....company went public also this year...that's all you need to know really.....dedicated hosting costs me 12,000$/yr....needless to say i won't be renewing!

I wish I had seen these reviews before buying to this service last year. Rackspace has been a headache to manage. I am going to leave this program as soon as I found another service to host our emails that is reliable. I've lost emails here. I can't scroll through my emails without this system jumping to the last email and causing me to lose my place. Customer service is dodgy. AVOID THIS SYSTEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

Avoid this company like the plague! They make you sign a contract for at least a year. When the contract is done and you decide to leave they demand you give them 3 additional months of payments unless you have notified them 3 months before the contract ends! Robber barrons at work! They hide this in the cancellation clauses even though it has nothing to do with cancellation! This is after being a customer for 11 years and staying with them without a contract fot 9 years. Trying to rip me off for $$$$$, yes 5 figures for 10 year old servers no one would want or use. Oh, did I mention that they increased the cost of those same servers by 9% every year. After 9 years I am paying almost 100% more for the same servers!

We've been hosting our sites with RackSpace since 2016. Their support used to be AMAZING! Unfortunately, in the past 2 years their support has gotten so bad (account managers disappear or are changed every few months, support tickets go un-answered for weeks) that we finally decided to transfer our sites to a different Hosting company. We used to recommend RackSpace whole-hardheartedly but now we tell our clients to stay as far away from RackSpace as possible. Really a shame.

Require very particular 30 day cancellation procedure. I moved my emails in May, they billed for June. When I called to have it credited, they said I had to formally cancel through the portal and told me because I had to give 30 day notice, I'd get one more charge for July. Two months payment for no services provided.

Terrible Customer Service - One to Avoid! We've been customers of Rackspace for more than 15 years and in the old days considered them one of our best suppliers - providing a responsive and excellent service that lived up to their Fanatical Service promise. We recommended them to our own customers. However, in recent years, our experience has been very different, reaching a climax of awful customer service in 2019 when we finally decided enough was enough and we needed to find another supplier. In the final few months we have had: Extraordinarily slow responses to requests for quotes for new service. A blank refusal to quote us for the cloud based service they trumpet - presumably because this would reduce our costs. Account managers telling us verbally that we were out of contract and then declaring when we tried to cancel our contracts that we needed to give them 90 days notice on the contracts that had ended and then telling us that we would have to pay another nine months for half of the services they provided, which they claimed were still in contract, in direct contradiction to what they'd told us by phone, An initial refusal to escalate our complaints and then a claim to have escalated our complaint that we found difficult to believe since we had no contact whatsoever from a more senior manager. Perhaps most tellingly, when I sent them a copy of their own 'Fanatical Service' promise they claimed to have no knowledge of it but promised to pass it to their legal department to see if it had any legal meaning - who again never contacted us. When a company's employees have no awareness of their organisation's service promises you really have to question their worth, particularly when they clearly have no connection to the organisational culture. There are MUCH better suppliers out there - avoid this one.

We use Rackspace email. Using the webmail interface, I have a need to resend the same email message to multiple recipients. Once I have sent to a recipient, the message appears in my sent folder. Then, I can click on the email and click "Resend email" to send the same mail again. I simply delete the address in the "To" field and replace with the new intended recipient. Until yesterday, resending a message was a routine matter. Now, however, I am using a 420 KB message and when I resend it, the Rackspace program inflates the message size, and not even consistently. Sometimes the message size jumps from 420 KB to 488KB. But it has also generated messages at 642 KB and even 983KB. They told me to "try formatting a new message", despite the fact the the SAME message was re-sent by their program successfully about 50 times. Now all of a sudden it's the fault of the message formatting? What they are really telling me is that they have no idea how to solve my issue. I should point out, they had this same problem a few years ago, and they told me the same thing. A year or so later, the problem cleared up, and we had no problems until yesterday. Who knows how long before this is fixed, if ever. It's very annoying.
